Hackfall is a restored 18th-century planned landscape set within an ancient woodland gorge on the River Ure, renowned for its grottos, waterfalls, glades and spring bluebells. Designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest and winner of a European heritage award, it supports a rich mix of woodland and river wildlife, including kingfisher, dipper and grey wagtail.
