The South Bank Community Cinema is a grassroots film society set up by film lovers seeking a more relaxed, intimate and social venue than that offered by commercial cinemas. Presenting a selection of popular, classic, art house and foreign language films, screened in the beautifully restored Clement’s Hall on Nunthorpe Road. We provide screenings with ‘cabaret’ style seating around candlelit tables with a fully licensed bar.
Tickets are £5.00 (or £4.00 for members) and can be reserved by emailing enquiries@clementshall.org.uk. Please note some of our films are very full and tickets on the door are often limited.
Screenings take place on the first Friday of every month. Doors and Bar open at 7:30pm, film starts at 8:00pm.
Clement’s Hall Local History Group give engaging and interesting talks in the main hall on a variety of fascinating topics regarding our local area, specifically the Scarcroft, Clementhorpe, South Bank and Bishophill areas of York. For information about upcoming events, please check their website.
